Stephan Hillhouse has managed hotel pre-openings, ownership transitions, and repositioning projects — with direct P&L responsibility across branded and independent hotel environments. Native in French, English, and German, he has operated hotels across France, Austria, and beyond — from IHG and Marriott multi-brand portfolios to Michelin-recognised independent resorts.

What drives every mandate is straightforward: well-managed hotels produce better results for owners, better experiences for guests, and better careers for the people who work in them. That belief has not changed in 30 years.

In 2007, he founded HILLOTEL — built on three decades of direct General Management, ownership transition support, and board advisory — to offer hotel owners a partner who has operated on both sides of the owner-operator relationship.

Hospitality is an operational discipline before it is a concept. Real performance is built in daily execution — not in presentations. My focus is always on helping hotels operate better, not just look better.
